Thanks to my dear Aunt Nancy for the new baby doll. It is well scaled to my body and sort of looks like me, no?

Tivoli draw on the street Day

I'm advising her not to become an artist but it might be inevitable (check out that white scribble by Sadie. I know, pretty talented.)

seat, snot, Selene

She's trying to escape from her car-seat. I think thats because it smells like puke.
We are now at the beginning of a very long snot season.

We had a wonderful time with Aunt Selene. Sadie and her invented a language in which they spoke and we had no idea what was going on.

I know it is hard to believe but she has never been to a "music together" class.

Mop

This trip is named after that movie Pop about three generations of males on a road trip together. We are on a road trip to Ithaca with three of our own generations reading a second generation book called Go Dog Go.

fork?

I might as well help Sadie move into her own apartment. She hardly needs me at all anymore.

wild blueberries

Sadie devoured all the wild blueberries Lynnie picked by the lake in New Hampshire. Maybe she's destined to become a competitive eater after all.

Where have we been?

Nike, our new next door neighbor hosted a $3 million (!!!!!) party for themselves (it lasted only 3 hours!). I told Sadie they were doing it for her birthday.
This is where I used to take a bath too when I was a baby:

New favorite game: stand up, fall down on butt. Here she is mid-air:

What are you doing under mom's desk rascal?

The R.I.N.G. Garden

Sadie has been visiting A LOT of New York City's gardens this summer. Here she is with her friends Margaret, Catlin and ? (their unborn baby) at their community garden. They showed her how to turn compost and dispose of dead rats that are sometimes found in gardens.

One of the girls has really dirty knees from the playground. Those knees are getting a lot of use, racking up the miles. maybe they'll give us a free flight someday. or maybe just 8 hours at a stretch to sleep...

grass!

Sadie's not quite sure what to make of it. But I think she likes it better than carpets because it it easier to rip up.

sadie won't let me sleep or do anything but hold her

I'm going a little crazy. so here is an aside. instead of a post about Sadie I am reporting on our visit to Bushwick to see Zak and this empty lot. Zak and I used to live across the street but the lot was very barren then. now it has very tall weeds and a pretty tall sculpture by Ben. It is next door to a weird daycare center called The Bruce High Quality Foundation. I checked it out but I don't think I will be sending Sadie there because the child attendants were unfriendly. I have a new blog about gardeners http://thegardenersofnyc.blogspot.com/
